My name is Katie Dineen, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new AmeriCorps PNA Village Volunteer Coordinator! I am from San Francisco and I have been in Seattle for four years recently earning my Bachelor’s in Public Affairs at Seattle University this past June. As I am interested in pursuing a career in public service, I cannot express how enthusiastic I am to be working with PNA Village and its wonderful, dedicated community of volunteers.
I would like to remind you that you can sign up for volunteer assignments with Village members directly through the PNA website:
Please check back to this page often, as member requests for volunteer assistance are posted as they are received. As you may have noted, the sign-up requires you to enter your name and email to search for matches in our database. Additional personal information is not necessary unless you think we’re missing it.
We are in need of weekday drivers for our members. Recently the Village has been receiving requests for drivers to doctor’s appointments and other visits that take place during business hours, and we would love to be able to meet this growing demand! If you or anyone you know is available to drive during the day, please let us know.
Our fall newsletter will be out soon and we are in need of a volunteer testimonial. If you would like to share why you decided to volunteer with the Village and how volunteering has been a rewarding experience for you, please email me with your comments.
Finally, I would like to invite all of you to our upcoming events:
- Fall Social Event – Sunday, November 4th from 5:00-7:00pm at the Greenwood Senior Center
- Winter Beer Taste – Saturday, November 10, 2012, 7-10 pm – (Preview Tasting at 6:15 pm) at the Phinney Neighborhood Center
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 206.297.0875 ext. 24. I look forward to speaking with all of you!
